Programs

Six programs. One standard.

Puppy work through detection work. Every program is shaped around the dog in front of us, and every one of them asks something of you as well.

01

Puppy Foundations

Start your pup out right. We build a solid foundation of obedience and confidence, make your daily life easier from the start, and set the dog up for success later.

The socialization window closes sooner than most owners expect. Call as soon as your puppy comes home rather than waiting for problems to show up — the habits you prevent now are the ones you won’t have to fix later.

  • Early socialization done deliberately, not by chance
  • Name response, sit, down, place and crate work
  • House manners: doorways, jumping, mouthing, counters
  • Coaching for the household, so everyone handles the pup the same way

Obedience Training

Every dog and every owner benefits from a solid foundation in obedience. Your dog learns to sit, down, stay, wait, and go to place or kennel — and learns to do it when it actually matters, not just in the living room.

We train dogs for results, not for tricks, so you get as much benefit as possible out of the work.

  • Sit, down, stay, wait, place and kennel
  • No bolting through doorways
  • No jumping on people
  • No counter-surfing

03

Advanced & Off-Leash

This is the layer that turns a trained dog into a dog you can take anywhere: long stays, long stays with distractions added, loose-leash walking, long downs, and every previous command held while life happens around it.

Dogs need to pass basic obedience before we add this work. The foundation is what makes the advanced work hold up.

  • Long stays and long downs
  • Stays with distractions worked in deliberately
  • Loose-leash walking
  • Going out in public with a dog you can trust

Requires passing basic obedience first.

Behavior Modification

Is your dog overly aggressive in certain situations? Reactive on leash? Being a bully? We assess what is actually driving the behavior, then correct and modify it methodically. We don’t give up on dogs.

With pulling and lunging we build the dog’s confidence first, then work distractions in slowly but surely. With fear and anxiety we use gradual desensitization and counter-conditioning, at the dog’s speed. Different behaviors take different lengths of time to correct, and we’ll tell you honestly which one you’re dealing with.

  • Aggression and reactivity
  • Leash pulling and lunging
  • Fear, anxiety, and rescues with a rough history
  • Bullying behavior between dogs

Board & Train

Board and train may be the best option for your time and money. We provide training every day, three to four times per day. It moves faster than weekly sessions because the repetition is constant and consistent.

From basic obedience to advanced obedience, behavior modification and puppy work, we cover all of it. The handoff at the end matters as much as the training itself — training that only works for the trainer isn’t training, so we show you how to maintain what your dog learned.

  • Training three to four times a day, every day
  • Basic through advanced obedience
  • Behavior modification and puppy work
  • A handoff that teaches you to keep it

Advanced work within board and train requires passing basic obedience first. Contact us for current availability and length.

Detection Training

Detection is specialty work and it is trained to a working standard, not a hobby standard. Chris is formally trained in professional detection-dog methodology, and that discipline shapes how we build a detection dog: clear indication, honest reward structure, and no shortcuts.

If you have a detection need, call and describe it. We’ll tell you whether it is something we can take on.

  • Narcotics detection training
  • Formal detection and handling course methodology
  • Built on an obedience and handling foundation

Tell us what your dog is doing. We’ll tell you straight what it takes to change it.

By appointment only. Our phone and email are always open, and we return messages as soon as we’re able.
