The problem

Most dogs aren’t bad. They’re untrained.

The dog bolts out the door. Pulls you down the street. Jumps on your guests. Takes food off the counter. Or something harder — lunging at other dogs, growling at strangers, panicking when you leave.

None of that goes away on its own, and it rarely goes away with a video and good intentions. It changes when the dog gets clear, consistent training and you learn how to handle the dog differently.

That is the work. It takes effort from you. Done right, it gives you a dog you can live with, walk, and take out in public.

Why us

Credibility is the product.

An ethical, well-balanced methodology

We use what works for the dog in front of us instead of forcing one rigid philosophy onto every animal. Tool decisions are made per dog and explained to you first.

Results, not tricks

Training is judged by how the dog behaves in your house, on your street, and in public — not by what it can perform in a training session.

Your dog’s pace

Every dog is different and the speed at which they learn varies. We will not force behaviors on dogs to hit a deadline.

Still learning

We stay on the cutting edge with up-to-date training methods and techniques. If you stop learning, you stop growing.

We coach you too

You are the one living with the dog. Half the job is teaching you to handle your dog differently so the training holds after we leave.

We don’t give up on dogs

Aggression, reactivity, fear, bullying behavior — we assess what is driving it and work it methodically. If a case needs a veterinarian’s involvement, we say so.

Philosophy

“Put the dog before the dollar.”

The trainer

Chris Crockett

Chris has been training dogs in Franklin since 2012, with more than 16 years of hands-on canine behavior and handling experience. He is an ABC Certified Dog Trainer (ABCDT) through Animal Behavior College and has completed several detection and handling courses.

He grew up wanting to work with animals, with dogs the lasting fascination — Eagle Scout at fifteen, Franklin Police Explorers, and a plan to become a park ranger. He spent over a decade as an Arborist and owned a small tree care company before a climbing injury turned him back toward the work he actually wanted.

Every session and every consultation is run by Chris personally. You are not handed off to an assistant, and the person who assesses your dog is the person who trains your dog.

“These dogs aren’t my job, they’re my life. My true passion in life is to be able to properly help people and help dogs save lives.”
